Also viewable on the first morning I woke up was Mount Ruapehu, home of a ski station and more importantly the mountain used as Mount Doom in the Lord of the Rings series, although it was digitally altered so that the real life version doesn't really look like it (no orcs, no Ringwraiths flying around it, no burning eye hovering above it). |
