Here's our nimble but often hair-raising means of transportation while on Thailand's islands; the scooter. Costing less than $4 US a day to rent, they were essential for getting to all points on the islands. Picture mountain biking with a person riding piggyback and a big backpack strapped on front and you might get an idea of what it was like to ride on the rutted, washed out and potholed dirt back roads with Jules on the back. Always an adventure, it left me with a nice assortment of gashes by the time it was all over. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
