After spending the day in Rome we took a train to Cinque Terre, a beautiful set of 5 towns that border the rocky mediterranean coast, near Genoa. Unfortunately it's overrun by tourists, so the quaint feeling is all but lost. However we still took advantage by swimming in the warm waters and hiking the half-day hike between the 5 towns, which got us away from a majority (but by no means all) of the tourists.
