OK so I went on a guided spelunking day trip. It involved entering a innocent looking crack in the ground, and then 3 rappels, the longest being about 27 meters. Once in there's lots of crawling and slinking through funky shaped caves and seeing the walls glowing from groups of glowworms. Definitely an awesome experience that I would do any time again. However I had a bit of beef with the company I used, Waitomo Adventures. It was a bit pricey, the trip was an hour shorter than they stated (3 hours instead of 4), and worst of all, cameras were not allowed, which was in the fine print of their literature. Instead they take 2 photos of you while in the cave, and then charge $20 for the 2 photos. Not one to be outwitted, I saved the $20 and just took a digital photo of their photo of me, which they had been nice enough to display on the wall, along with everyone elses. So here is photo #1 of those. $10 for a photo of me with my eyes closed, yeah... right....
