Due to my extreme lack of funds at this point - not working for the last 15 months - I decided to see the countryside of Auckland, where all is cheap and the best way to get around is hitchhiking (and is suggested by the Visitors Bureau). So I took the first bus out of Auckland, and headed down to Waitomo, a tiny town that is home of some great caves and general great scenery. Here's a shot from the back deck of where I stayed for the night. |
