September 27

We woke up from our decent camping spot in Cabo de Gata, and went out to one of the nicest beaches we had come across. Clear water, plenty of sand, sunny skies. I was amazed at the rock formations beside the beach, it was a rock climbers dream. A big wall of solid rock, with hand sized stones protruding out. It was lke a indoor climbing wall, but on the beach. It would be absolutely great for bouldering, because there's soft beach sand to fall on. I messed around on it, and it was the first time (but not the last) that I had wish I brought my rock climbing shoes and chalk bag.

A shot of the beach. The name of the beach is Playa del Monsul, or something like that. This doesn't capture the scene very well, the beach was much longer than this and it was out in the middle of nowhere.
Here's the biggest wall, with the beach just to the right of this. Curvy and with lots of nooks.
This picture gives you an idea of the rock formations within the wall. They make great hand holds.
And this is a super-closeup macro shot of the rocks, so you can see that they wouldn't just fall off when grabbing them. Well, at least not most of them.
This rock was on the other side of the beach. It was made of the same stuff as the huge wall, but had a face that fell into the shallow and rocky water, making it more difficult.
Here's a closer shot of the face.
